Automation Engineer (OT Systems)

Purpose & key responsibilities of the role

  • You will be responsible for the design, implementation & maintenance of OT networks, and the maintenance & development of SQL databases
  • You will provide primary support for the site OT systems, including out-of-hours support
  • You will create, modify & troubleshoot PLC software (predominantly Allen-Bradley) and SCADA software (GE iFIX)
  • You will contribute to the development & implementation of the strategy in terms of reliability, obsolescence, ageing plant and improvements; and assist the Improvement Team (Projects/Process/Engineering) on the continuous improvements to the factory
  • You will develop & implement control systems for new plant equipment; and work closely and effectively with the local IT Coordinator
  • You will ensure that SHE systems & procedures are understood and followed within the department; and that all SHE matters (including your own work performance and behaviour) are appropriately managed throughout your areas of responsibility, to meet internal & external requirements & standards

Our expectations for this exciting role

  • You hold a relevant Automation qualification; and ideally a degree
  • You have experience in working in a manufacturing environment
  • You are proficient in SQL programming; and have experience of high-level programming language
  • You have knowledge of M.E.S. and of OT network principles i.e. VLANs, segregation, routing etc
  • You have strong problem-solving skills

The annual salary for this position will be up to £67,000 (gross)
